I grew up listening to the likes of James Brown on the radio in the 70s. As an audiophile I was more interested in the sound itself rather than the lyrics. I soon bought a mixer and in the 80s landed my first gigs dejaying at friends parties for the fun of it. As I attended several parties and weddings I became disheartened at the quality and fidelity of the music at some of these occasions - boomy and lacked fidelity. It seemed like for some disc jockeys fidelity is an afterthought. At one wedding in particular it was almost personal. The venue was exclusively posh and luxuriously decorated, guests were elegantly dressed and the marble dance floor begged to be stomped on. Instead the DJ sporting an elaborate and obtrusive rig squirted out mediocre sound. It was flat and lacked any fidelity! I decided to do something about it - and so was the birth of New System SoundWorks! But if I was going to do it, it has to be done right. It has to be all-digital, no obtrusive DJ rigs - vinyl crates, 2-ton amplifiers, monster speakers and subs. After much research I settled for the Bose L1 system. The L1 has two models - I & II. I settled for the model II which features an articulated array speaker technology. It spreads the sound uniformly around the room so that where ever you are in the room you can get your groove on! To complement the L1 we now feature the brand new Pioneer DDJ-S1 with Serato Itch 2.0. What a ride it has been!
